Ham except through Caanan

After the tower of Babel he

Resen –control from above

Sons of Raamah
Sheba – rest, wholeness

Lehabim – activated by desire

of lack

Sons of Caanan became all the tribes such as
The Jebusites - spiritual in subjection
The Amorites – sex and procreation
The Girgashites – unawakened state
The Hevites – carnal consciousness
The Arkites – Blind passion
The Sinites – hateful passions
The Arumdite – avarice, plunder
The Zemarite – hunger for dominion
The Hamathite – confidence in material
Elam - eternal
Asshur - harmonious
Argachsand - fate
Lud – desire to bring forth (child of God)
Aram – intellect foundation in spirit

But two years after the flood Shem begat Arphaxad and then begat sons and daughters. So here is the beginning of spiritual life with the advent of daughters, even though unnamed.

Arphaxad – realm of astrology

Peleg – separation through grace
Reu – leading to pasture, feeding a flock
Serug – shoot, branch, strength
Nahor – passionate, eager, piercing
Terah – waiting place
Abram – exalted father

Finally we are down to Abraham the first of the patriarchs.

The descendents of Shem followed a growing spiritual path as will be seen later with the naming of Sarai and the wives of Isaac and Jacob and the eventual first named daughter of Jacob, Dinah.
